Patient Visitation
We are a group of trained volunteers extending our free services to Cantonese and Mandarin speaking cancer patients in the Bay Area. Through home visitation and counseling, we help the patient overcome the feeling of fear, helplessness and hopelessness. We link the patient to helpful resources in the community and provide the necessary information so that the patient can access them to receive help. More importantly, we provide companionship and friendship to walk with the patient through his or her cancer journey towards hope and love.
Requests for personal caring may be made either by calling CCHC-SF office at 510-893-3210 or completing a request form. The request must be made by the patient or with the patient’s consent. We will call the patient for a telephone interview to better understand the needs so that we can match the patient with a suitable same-gender volunteer, who will visit the patient in person.
Our services are free of charge. Our volunteers are strictly instructed not to give unauthorized medical advice, or promote any medical products or nutritional supplements or any other merchandise or paid services.
